Denver health & Hospital authority

Good day cafe dining and kitchen renovation

The lower level of the hospital was fully renovated to house a new commercial kitchen and dining facility with the added challenge of keeping the existing cafeteria in service during construction. The kitchen and dining facility has its own identity and stands out as a destination within the hospital campus.

The use of light and key architectural elements influenced the design. The design entices and invites staff and visitors to experience and enjoy the space, as well as enjoy the wide variety of new dining options! To demonstrate the complexity of this project, it involved five construction phases keeping food service delivery access and all building functions operational 24-7.

Throughout construction, the kitchen served the entire hospital as well as several outreach programs throughout the City of Denver. Efficient organization, ergonomics, and flow for the food processing provided significant cost savings to the Client. This centralized kitchen serves multiple food programs: catering, dining, hospital room delivery, and off-campus programs.
