University of denver

Ruffatto hall

The building design responded to the Morgridge College of Education’s progressive, innovative, and multidisciplinary philosophy and building program. Sited prominently at the corner of East Evans and High Streets, the building serves as a campus gateway.

Its massing and courtyard gathering area on the building’s north side serve to draw students into the campus. The building is organized around an interior public Commons, which provides a gathering space for MCE functions, as well as other functions of the University.

With large windows opening to Evans on the south, and to the new courtyard and the campus green on the north, the Commons invites visitors to explore the activity within.

Designed in collaboration with the Campus Architect.
